Blind debossing is a traditional technique where your design is pressed directly into the card using a custom made metal plate and high pressure. Rather than adding ink or foil, the detail is created purely through the impression itself, leaving a soft, indented finish that catches the light beautifully. It’s a subtle, tactile effect that feels refined and timeless.
We use a luxurious 300gsm cotton card in a soft creamy white, chosen specifically for how well it responds to debossing. Its slightly softer, fibrous texture allows for a deeper, more defined impression, giving the design a beautifully crisp yet gentle finish. For an even thicker, more substantial feel, you can also upgrade to a 600gsm duplexed card.
This is one of the most luxurious effects that can be applied to card. It offers subtle, understated elegance with a refined, timeless feel. The design is pressed directly into the card, creating a soft, tactile impression that catches the light without the need for ink or foil.
Like with letterpress, a custom metal die is used to imprint the design into the card. Unlike foiling, no ink or foil is applied. Instead, the detail is created purely through pressure, resulting in a beautifully clean, indented finish defined by light and shadow. This works best on lighter card stocks where the impression can be seen clearly.
INVITATION SET All additional cards such as RSVP or Gift Message can be selected within this listing. You can choose Invite, Invite +1 or Invite +2 to build your set. Please note that additional cards are printed only and do not include debossing. If you would like debossing on additional cards, please get in touch for a quote.
WHAT DESIGN & TEXT CAN I HAVE? As part of our Signature Collection, the debossed design itself is fixed and cannot be altered. However, all printed elements can be fully personalised. We can adjust your wording, change font styles or colours, and add small details such as icons to suit your wedding style.

MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY As with all traditional debossing, metal dies and machine setup are required. To keep costs down, we have a minimum order quantity of 30 per variation (e.g. Day Invite, Evening Invite, RSVP Card). Larger quantities reduce the unit cost.

VARIATIONS EXPLAINED
VARYING INVITES (DAY/EVE) You can add both Day and Evening invitations to your basket together to benefit from quantity discounts, as the debossed design remains the same. Minor wording changes are included. More complex changes, such as different languages or layouts, may incur an additional fee.
INVITE SIZE This design is available in 5x7” only, as the debossed plate has been created specifically for this size. If you require a different size, please see our Bespoke Collection.
CARD TYPE & DUPLEXING We use a beautiful 300gsm cotton card in a soft creamy white, chosen for how well it responds to debossing. ENVELOPE OPTIONS We source high quality envelopes at competitive prices. If you cannot see a colour you need, please get in touch. Custom envelopes may be available for a surcharge. Our cream envelopes pair best with our cotton card.
Premium White Peel & Seal Envelopes cannot be used with liners due to their shape. Please select Standard V-flap White if you require liners.
As with all paper products, availability can change and shades may vary slightly between batches.
ADDRESSED INVITATION ENVELOPES We can print your guest addresses for you. Provide a spreadsheet with one row per envelope and one column per line of the address.
MATCHING ENVELOPE LINERS Liners can be customised to match your design or chosen from our existing range. These do not include debossing.
MATCHING STICKERS OR WAX SEALS Add matching stickers or wax seals to complete your envelopes. These do not include debossing.
YOUR TEXT Add your wording and notes here, or email them to us afterwards. Any files should be sent via email.

‘Create’ your invite pack yourself by selecting all the elements you require from the various listings. Click on the information button for details of each option or check the Product Information tab where everything is explained in great detail. Either include the information for your cards with the order or email it to us afterwards at your convenience. If you’re unsure about anything, please just email or phone us and we’ll be happy to help.
PROOFS Once we receive your order a member of our design team will create electronic proofs using the information you have supplied usually within 2 - 3 working days although this can take slightly longer during busy periods. The proofs will be emailed to you. We do not limit the number of changes you can make to your proofs within reason. Once you are happy with them, let us know and we will send them to print. Once you have approved the proof, it cannot be changed so it is important you check it very carefully and that you are completely happy with the design. Please note that these are hand pressed so the design may not always be in the same precise position on every item as subtle movement can occur during pressing.
Nothing goes to print without your approval. If after placing an order you haven’t heard from us within 3 working days, please get in touch.
TURNAROUND These take longer to produce as there are several processes to go through. First, we create the design. We then have a metal block made. Once the block/die arrives we can start the printing process. The invitations are printed by hand, one at a time. Please allow a total of 3 weeks for them to be ready to dispatch, we usually manage them quicker but can’t always guarantee it. If you need them sooner, there is an option to add Priority Processing to the order during checkout. The order will then be processed as quickly as possible and be prioritised at each stage.
Please note that once we send debossing orders to print, the order cannot be changed! By sending them to print you confirm that all the details are correct on the proofs. Proofs are final and you are responsible for checking each and every detail.
