Blind debossing, also known as blind letterpress, is a traditional technique where your design is pressed directly into the card using a custom-made metal die and high pressure. Rather than adding ink or foil, the detail is created purely through the impression itself, leaving a soft, indented finish that is defined by light and shadow. The result is a subtle, tactile effect that feels refined and timeless.

We use a luxurious 300gsm cotton card in a soft creamy white, chosen specifically for how well it responds to debossing. Its slightly softer, fibrous texture allows for a deeper, more defined impression, giving the design a beautifully crisp yet gentle finish. For an even thicker, more substantial feel, you can also upgrade to a 600gsm duplexed card.

There are plenty of options available, so we’ve kept the process as simple as possible. Work your way down the list and select anything you would like to include. The price will update as you go, allowing you to keep track while building your invitation suite. Each option is explained in more detail below.

WHAT DESIGN & TEXT CAN I HAVE?
As part of our Signature Collection, the debossed design itself is fixed and cannot be altered. However, all printed elements can be fully personalised. We can adjust your wording, refine font styles and colours, and add small details such as icons to suit your wedding.

AVAILABLE OPTIONS EXPLAINED
WOULD YOU LIKE AN ADDITIONAL CARD?
Choose to have the invitation on its own or include one or two additional A6 cards for details such as RSVP, gift message, or further information. Please note that additional cards are printed only and do not include debossing. If you would like debossing on additional cards, please get in touch for a quote.

CARD COLOUR
We use a luxurious 300gsm cotton card in a soft creamy white, chosen for how well it responds to debossing. Its slightly softer texture allows for a deeper, more defined impression and a beautifully crisp finish. Lighter tones produce the best result, allowing the debossed detail to be seen clearly. If you would prefer an alternative shade, please get in touch to discuss available options.

INVITE SIZE
This design is available in 5x7”, as the debossed plate has been created specifically for this size. If you require a different size, please see our Bespoke Collection. All additional cards are A6.

DOUBLE THICKNESS CARD (DUPLEXED)
Upgrade to a duplexed 600gsm card for a thicker, more substantial feel. Select which of your cards you would like to have duplexed.

CORNER OPTIONS
Choose to keep the card corners square or opt for rounded corners for a softer finish.

PERSONALISED GUEST NAMES
Add personalised guest names to each invitation for a clean, considered finish. To do this, we will need a list of names that can be copied and pasted directly. Each name should be on a separate line and written exactly as you would like it to appear.

PRINTING ON BACK OF CARDS
If you have additional information to include, you can opt for printing on the reverse of your cards. This works particularly well for RSVP cards, for example with menu choices on one side and RSVP details on the other.

Please note that printing on the reverse of a debossed card is not available unless duplexing is selected, as the impression will be visible on the back.

ENVELOPE OPTIONS
COLOUR
We source high quality envelopes in a wide range of colours to complement your invitation. If you cannot see the shade you are looking for, please get in touch as additional options may be available for a small surcharge. Our cream envelopes pair particularly well with our cotton card. Please note that recycled Kraft envelopes may show natural variations in shade.

Premium White Peel & Seal envelopes are not suitable for liners due to their shape. If you would like to add liners, please select Standard V flap White envelopes.

ADDRESSED INVITATION ENVELOPES
We can print your guest addresses for a polished, ready to send finish. Address printing is available on lighter envelope colours only and is not available on darker shades.

We will need your addresses supplied in a spreadsheet, with each guest on a single row and each line of the address in a separate column. Please ask us for instructions or a template if needed.

ENVELOPE LINER
Envelope liners add an extra layer of detail when your guests open their invitation. They can be customised to match your design or selected from our existing range. You can choose to have them supplied loose for you to assemble or opt for preassembled liners where we take care of this for you. Please note that liners do not include debossing.

ENVELOPE LINER COLOUR
Choose from three options. Premium Cream is the closest match in both colour and texture to our cotton card.

ADD PEEL & SEAL WAX SEALS
Add a peel and seal wax seal for a classic finishing touch. They are easy to apply and give your envelopes a clean, polished look. If you are looking for a specific design or colour, please get in touch to discuss custom options.

YOUR WORDING
You can include your wording and any notes when placing your order or email them to us afterwards. Any files should be sent via email. If you are emailing from a different address than the one used to place your order, please include this so we can match everything correctly.

MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY & VARIATIONS
As with all traditional debossing, metal dies and machine setup are required. To keep costs manageable, we have a minimum order quantity of 30 invitations. 
You can add both Day and Evening invitations to your basket together to benefit from quantity discounts, as the debossed design remains the same. Minor wording changes are included. Multiple or more complex changes, such as different languages or layouts, may incur an additional fee.

As you adjust the options and quantity, the price will update in real time to give you an accurate total. REPRINTS
For reprints, please contact us for a quote. We always recommend ordering a few extra copies with your initial order to avoid the higher cost of smaller reprint runs.

As with all paper products, availability can change and shades may vary slightly between batches.

Invitation cards are 5x7” (approximately 120mm x 170mm).
Additional cards are A6 (approximately 148mm x 105mm).

Build your invitation by working through the options from top to bottom, selecting your preferences as you go. Each option is explained in detail within the Product Information tab. You can include your wording when placing your order or email it to us afterwards.

Once we receive your order, a member of our design team will create electronic proofs using your details, usually within 2 to 3 working days. These will be emailed to you for review. We offer unlimited amendments within reason, and nothing goes to print without your approval.

We typically print within 6 to 8 working days once your proofs have been approved. Delivery time will depend on the shipping option selected at checkout. If you need your order quickly, please select Priority Processing and choose the fastest shipping option available for your postcode. Your order will then flag up for us and go to the top of the queue for processing & printing.
